Pursuit of Happyness

It was a wonderful movie. I had tears in my eyes when he finally gets the Job! Beautiful really.

'Happiness' is philosophical, isn’t it? We all think, living a good life within the norms of the society, will give us happiness. What is normal? Get a degree, get a job, earn money, fall in love, get married, have children, have a perfect family..this is the normal cycle in the society. Any one missing link from these …and we look different from others. And it is completely okay to be different. We don’t need the society to accept us. Only We need to accept ourselves. That is all is needed.

Happiness is relative. Problem starts when we lose ourselves in our unconscious (or conscious! ) efforts in trying to fit in the society. It could be anything… like, getting an education in a field you never wanted to be in. Or your job is not giving you anything other than the monthly paycheque. Ya.. we all work for money. There is no doubt on importance of earning and being able to support yourself and your family. But the work we do for more than 8 hours a day, every day, shouldn’t it be satisfactory? If it’s not giving you satisfaction, if you are not leaving office at the end of the day with a content mindset, with a feeling of being able to be really fruitful, it’s gonna be really difficult for you to survive in the job. And it will start affecting life for more than those 8 hours we spend in the office. (Unless we are really good at separating the two!)

We must know what makes us happy. If not, it’s high time to find it and achieve it. And it may sound very difficult. May be we feel a million dollars will make us happy! How do I get a million dollars to be happy?! Need to stop here. And think again. Happiness is a state of mind …It is very much possible that we might not be happy even when we have a million dollars (ahh. Not really ;). Somewhere I do believe that a million dollars can make me very happy :D ). Happiness is in much much smaller things. We just need to have an open mind to see, experience and live that moment happily.
Let’s not change ourselves too much while living in the society. Remind yourself regularly of who you really are. Do things which makes You happy.
Being happy is an art..honestly, it’s not something I have achieved! But putting down some random thoughts, just to remind myself!
